Food bank

The heart of our infrastructure:

We believe in a world where every food is valued, far from waste and loss. Through our food bank in Antsirabe, we create innovative solutions to preserve and process surpluses, thus contributing to a more sustainable future.

Learning oasis

We believe in the potential of every child when they are allowed to learn through play. In our learning oasis, students from surrounding schools can quietly complete their homework, read, and play together.

We believe in the transformative power of the circular economy and a post-growth society that recognizes waste as a valuable resource. Through regenerative practices, we inspire the people of Antsirabe to separate waste and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Food bank

A central component of our project is combating food loss. Our food bank is the life-giving and vibrant heart of Meet & Create. We partner with local farmers to rescue surplus or perishable produce.

Cooling systems allow us to prolong the freshness of these agricultural products.

We buy the raw materials from local farmers at fair prices, cool them, and process them further – into pastries, jams, sauces, juices, or dried fruits. In our in-house shop, we sell the proceeds of our work to local customers and tourists. In this way, we not only create a stable source of income for farmers, but also help ensure that valuable food is not wasted.

In addition to preserving, processing, and selling food, we also offer hot meals. We give disadvantaged people in the region the opportunity to enjoy meals – not for money, but in exchange for alternative services. The latter can take various forms; one inspiring example is an initiative called " Buy food with plastic." In English: "Buy food with plastic (waste)." This initiative is already being implemented in several countries and illustrates how creative approaches can address social and environmental challenges simultaneously.

Education for a Sustainable Future

Learning oasis

Meet & Create not only aims to satisfy children's hunger, but also to nourish inquisitive minds. We provide a conducive environment for learning, where schoolchildren have access to books, a quiet workspace, and the internet. Many children in Madagascar lack access to these resources at home, and overcrowded classrooms often don't provide a quiet place to learn.

We place great emphasis on technological literacy, as the use of digital media is crucial for children's futures. At the same time, we teach the values of sustainability and the importance of resource conservation.

The Meet & Create association aims to exemplify a holistic concept of sustainability and regeneration. As a self-supporting organization, we rely on an innovative economic model that focuses on local circular economy and recycling. The recycling workshop embodies the active and re-creative hands of the association.

In our semi-public workshop, which serves as a creative hub for talented artisans and artists, waste products are transformed into unique creations.

The workshop offers the ideal space for anyone who wants to breathe new life into what they think is trash. Whether it's functional everyday objects, fascinating works of art, or surprising new inventions – we encourage the community to realize their creative ideas and transform unused materials (wood, metal, plastic, fabrics) into true treasures. Through this approach, we not only promote resource conservation and environmental awareness, but also create a place for inspiration, exchange, and collaborative innovation.

Meet & Create combines education, innovation and practical implementation to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
